I'm so glad you are here! My name is Amy Stark and I am an LPC practicing in the Oklahoma City area. You need a therapist, so why choose me? I am real. I make mistakes. There are days that I will lose the handout I meant to give you and stumble over words. I may not "get" what you are saying the first time. I have good days and bad days just like everyone else but I'm consistent and I'm willing to walk beside you. I am trained in EMDR, but I also am a participant. I have new neuronetworks forming as I type this. I am a mom. I know kids. I started teaching in 1999, and I have been working with kids (and their parents) since then. Maybe--most important---I think you can do this. You may need a support system and a higher power but you can get past this hurdle. My grandpa used to say sometimes it isn't one day at a time but one step at a time--right foot---left foot. He was right about that and many other things. I won't promise you that this will be easy or quick, but I can promise that you won't have to do it alone.
